Sustainability as an integral part of our strategy

An essential part of Ouneva Group’s new strategy, extending to 2030, is sustainability. In September, the Ouneva Group’s management team approved a unified sustainability strategy for the entire Group. The strategy outlines short-, medium-, and long-term goals for the three areas of corporate responsibility that we have identified as most important from our operational perspective.

The first focus area is ensuring that we have a healthy and motivated workforce, as they are our most important resource. This will be achieved by further developing well-being, competence, and safety. We also aim to continue being an attractive workplace where everyone enjoys working.

The second area deals with the environment, with the goal of reducing environmental impacts. In the future, our production will need to be less carbon-intensive than it is today. The environmental impact of production will be reduced by improving the energy efficiency of factories and using raw materials as efficiently as possible.

The final area is business partnerships. Our goal is to be a profitable and reliable business partner for our customers. We aim to provide them with high-quality products and to be their partner from the product development stage onwards. We are investing in the latest production technology, increasing automation, and boosting capacity.

Ouneva Group is committed to conducting its business in a sustainable and responsible manner. For us, responsible business means developing and maintaining our operations holistically, taking into account the diverse requirements of social, environmental, and economic responsibility.

We are also committed to international goals through the UN Global Compact initiative, as well as by identifying the key areas of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are relevant to our operations. We have been part of the Global Compact initiative since 2022.

The most relevant SDGs for our operations are:

  • Goal 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.
  • Goal 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.
  • Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
  • Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

Through our own operations, we can directly contribute to achieving each of these goals. With the new responsibility strategy, we have a clear direction toward more sustainable business practices, implementing sustainable solutions for the future.
